It is officially 2nd of Arpil :-) Takom's 72nd scale Battleship Yamato no. 2 main turret is real and coming soon… We could not believe it during the many furfies told on Aril 1st we are always on the lookout for felgercarb, but today Takom's upcoming product of 1/72 battleship Yamato no. 2 main turret surprised us.

A brace of new 101'st paras in 35th from Alpine Miniatures "drop" We will look at both of them alone and the weapons and equipment they carry before we look at them as a pair and how they fit together as a set. First, a short history of the 101st "Screaming Eagles" parachute division.

Preview: A new set from the Ardennes Offensive from D-Day Miniature Studio D-Day Miniatures are very good at making some figures combine into larger sets of recent time. It consists of four figures in 1/35th scale and accessories dedicated to Tamiya's Schwimmwagen kit. As usual, all of the figures and components of the big set may be purchased separately or in smaller sets of one or two each.

Building a Beginning Billing Boats Kit, Dana Fishing Boat - Part 13: Blocks and Sails The simplest way to mount the block is to first tie the stropping line around the metal horse, then wrap it around the block and tie it off around the block. Remember that the sheave hole should be closest to the horse. I took a slightly more complicated route, which is to take a line and loop it around the horse.

The subject of the book is the captured machines and equipment of the enemy in German hands during the Second World War. It is rare to see the myriad of captured equipment in enemy hands so this book is a good place to start.

Build Review Pt I: 1/35th scale B-type Military Omnibus from MiniArt Models Lukas is progressing with his neat build of MiniArt's new 1/35th scale B-type Military Omnibus kit. After some struggles over application decals on my Eduard's P-51 this, even though fragile, build proves to be rather rewarding. Especially once one reaches the point of weathering and like myself, begin to picture how it will look in the end.

Building a Beginning Billing Boats Kit, Dana Fishing Boat - Part 12: Railing and Block Choice If you look carefully at the plans you will see a line that runs from the top of the mainmast, down to the rail, aft of the three shrouds. This is the topmast backstay. I'm using the next smaller size rigging line for this - as a general rule, the higher up you go on the model, the smaller the rigging line gets, at least for the standing rigging.

South Bay Model Shipwrights - No March Meeting It seems that the coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting events in the Bay Area, and the monthly meeting of the South Bay Model Shipwrights has been canceled for the month of March. The next scheduled meeting is on Friday, April 10th.
